The non-profit project was established in 2013 and offers a platform of international, urban art - created by renowned and aspiring contemporary artists, like Shepard Fairey und Maya Hayuk, from all over the world. By offering workshops, events and exhibitions in a public, non-profit space, and throughout the city URBAN NATION promotes the community, public participation and a creative exchange. Parasol Island were asked to build the digital complement with the goal to create the biggest interactive, digital archive of contemporary urban art.
Our task was to build a digital home for URBAN NATION which fits its needs. The design needed to support the content instead of being the content. A space that is generated by supporters and curated by URBAN NATION.
The digital platform connects artists who design and diversify urban spaces around the globe. The audience is highly demanding concerning design, content, technology and mobility.
